Get creative with Blooms & Brushstrokes! Join us for a fun afternoon of crafting your own bouquet and painting a custom vase. Whether you’re a flower arranging pro or a first-timer, this hands-on event, hosted in collaboration with the Not Just Women’s Center, will have you leaving with a beautiful, personalized floral set. Women and the Military Lunch and Learn

Join the Office of Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity and Shenandoah Veterans and Supporters for a panel discussion exploring women’s experiences within the military. The panel will explore the evolving role of women in the U.S. military, from their historical contributions to the challenges and triumphs they face today. Leadership Lab: Women in Leadership

Join Shenandoah University Leadership Academy (SULA) for a powerful conversation on women in leadership with Colette Cunningham. Cunningham is a former police officer who thrived in a male-dominated field, was the first woman to play on a men’s professional soccer team, and so much more! What is Toxic Masculinity?

Stop by the [Not Just] Women’s Center table in the Brandt Student Center to learn about toxic masculinity, an attitude stereotypically associated with manliness with a negative impact on men, women, and society in general. Don’t Fear the Smear!

The [Not Just] Women’s Center seeks to provide information on women’s health, especially medical screenings that prevent serious illnesses. Celebrate the SUperwomen of Shenandoah University by nominating the faculty, staff, and/or students who have made a difference in your life and our community. Submit a nomination by Friday, March 7, using this Google Form. Once nominated, these inspirational women will receive a special invitation to the SUperwomen Luncheon, recognizing their impact on the university community. Watch an inspiring film based on the early career of a groundbreaking Supreme Court justice, her fight against gender discrimination and her journey toward reshaping legal history. Join the Office of Spiritual Life for this special Women’s History Month movie night on Wednesday, March 19, from 8-10:30 p.m. in Goodson Chapel-Recital Hall. Stay for a facilitated discussion co-led by Marco Pflanzen and Mannie Brown to explore themes of justice, equality, and perseverance. Gender & Women’s Studies

The Gender & Women’s Studies Minor is an interdisciplinary program that crosses traditional academic boundaries, pedagogical perspectives, and student experiences. The program offers a comprehensive study for students interested in the construction of gender, femininity, masculinity, sexuality and intersectionality.

A minor in Gender & Women’s Studies complements any major by expanding students’ knowledge and understanding of the human experience and what it means to be gendered.

[Not Just] Women’s Center (NJWC)

The mission of the [Not Just] Women’s Center (NJWC) is to provide an overall safe, inviting and inclusive environment for all students. Any person, no matter their sex, gender, orientation, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, immigration status, or religious beliefs can be a victim of sexual assault. The NJWC is committed to a campus free of sexual violence and from the fear of violence. Students can expect confidential peer support and information regarding healthy sexuality, healthy relationships, the importance of consent, tools for survivors, positive body image, being an active bystander and ways to prevent sexual assault. We are committed to spreading awareness, speaking out against injustice, educating on prevention, and offering tools for intervention.
